ABOUT CPC'S EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM:

CPC's Early Childhood Education programs provide high-quality, comprehensive school readiness services to families with children from birth to 5 years old.  Our early childhood education services strive to meet preschoolers' needs for intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth. This work prepares York County's young children to enter kindergarten prepared to learn.

SUMMARY: The Director of Early Childhood Education (ECE) serves as a member of Community Progress Council's leadership team, reporting to the Chief Program Officer.  This individual works in partnership with ECE program leadership and other program directors to align programs with the agency mission of self-sufficiency.  The Director of ECE implements strategies that integrate CPC's service delivery and advances practices that reflect a client-centered, relationship-based care model.  The ECE Director ensures the provision of high quality services and implements policy approved by the Policy Council and Board of Directors.  This executive has responsibility for developing the management and leadership skills of ECE program directors and staff and developing services to meet needs in the community.

General Requirements & Skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field with a minimum of 5 years of management experience.  Individuals with a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of early childhood related management experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, staff development, compliance, program development, outcomes reporting, and project management is an asset. This person must adhere to all aspects of client confidentiality and assist staff with their compliance.  Cultural competency a must.  Bi-Lingual skills preferred.  Diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
