The York County Economic Alliance is proud to announce a newly launched Tuition Reimbursement program for employees. With resounding support from the Board of Directors, this program offers talented team members the opportunity for continuing education in the way of their first bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited school, college or university.
“We see the value of investing in our team for their professional development, the retainment of talented individuals, and success for the organization as well,” said Kevin Schreiber, President and CEO of the YCEA.
Up to three staff members may be enrolled in the program at one time, and have eligibility requirements to maintain. Clauses such as pausing the program for marriage, birth, adoption, or bereavement are also in place to ensure employee success and flexibility.
“With an unemployment rate of 3.9% in PA, we know that attracting and retraining talent in York County, and within the YCEA, is vital to our health and vibrancy,” said Schreiber. “Employees that feel valued, invested in, and championed, will want to stay and give that same energy to the community that has supported them.”
“This was an easy, unanimous decision for the Board,” said Claire Forbush, chair of the Board of Directors. “We have an incredibly talented team, and investing in them is how we can grow together, and continue to enhance York. I’m proud of our Board for realizing this benefit, and proud of the team we have assembled at YCEA to Make Things Happen in YoCo.”
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) released an article in 2018 stating, “As the economic climate continues to improve, organizations must frequently assess and communicate their benefits to effectively leverage their programs to recruit and retain top talent.”
Embracing this fully, the YCEA had previously put in place a parental leave policy allowing mothers and fathers to take off time for the birth or adoption of a child. To become part of the team that invests in it’s employees, visit YCEAPA.org, About Us.
